Thread: Lets all be human

    Wink Lets all be human

I have been on many game forums and mostly full of complaints and a bunch of ranting non-sense. I for one think that creating an online game takes talent and dedication. Yes there are alot of glitches and issues that arise and it takes time to fix them and yes it would be nice to know what they are doing to fix them but if they are answering us then it takes them away from fixing problems. Also, many people are abusing the game and others playing it. One, people like to cheat, exploit, and bully. This makes the developers jobs more complicated. I wish I could find a game that was fair and fun and didnt give rich people all the advantage but hey this is America and money rules. So either play and deal with the crap that goes along with online gaming or dont play. I guess for many people they find their fun in trying to be heard the most on forums. LOL whatever floats your boat. Bottom line is that all the complaining only hurts everyone instead of making things better. So how about putting yourself in someone else shoes. No matter what most people are never happy any way.

Just my opinion. I bet theres a ton of respnses to my post that have nothing to do with it cause people didnt take the time to really read it and just like hearing themselves talk. lol here we go

There is no need to make nearly the identical post twice (your first post just before you posted this one): http://bbs.evony.com/showthread.php?t=94737

(Edited - by me) There are many people here that support Evony, their developers and the issues that plague the game. There is a small minority that truly complains beyond the normal "the game is lagging" "i can't log in" and "when will Age II get here". Finally Money has very little effect on the overall success of a player in this game. Without those that pay no one would be able to play for free... including you.

Oh ya... I'm pretty sure I've stayed on topic too.

I guess you have made it clear that everything posted is considered complaining. I was just stating an opinion and observation but I guess people will take it how they want. Sometimes I post an opinion just to see how people respond and it never ceases to amaze me how many take what is said totally out of context. Every time someone posts a comment or opinion people attack them and thats just not cool. I dont agree with alot thats written but I dont attack them. I may post a reply in the form of opinion but theres a big difference between complaining and opinion.

    lol

I edited out my comments on you complaining since you are clarifying that it was meant as an observation and not a complaint

Yes, how about putting yourself in some of the shoes of people on server N4 (formerly servers 15 and 16) who were:

    1) Forced into a server merge on Christmas Eve / Christmas Day.

    2) Due to the holiday, numerous people were out of town and got completely left behind by those who were able to sign on. As recent as yesterday, people are still coming onto World Chat and asking what has happened.

    3) All other servers, with the possible small exception of server N3, got the opportunity for all 5 days of the "Milk and Cookies" deal, where 3 of ours were overlapped with the server merge.

    4) If people knew that the merge was going to happen and overlap the "Milk and Cookies" times, people may not have bought as many packages.

    5) Requests for being treated the same as the rest of the Evony community, which includes all servers, in regards to the afore mentioned deal have gone unanswered.

    6) A possibility exists that future server merges get a full 7 days of no food consumption. It's either that or a misleading wording in a description about the "Super Server" merge (servers 17-23) that might be clarified elsewhere (trying to find out). If they do get a full 7 days, all merges prior to got less of a deal than others, but given item #5 in regards to the requests for compensation due to the overlap for servers 15 and 16 show that the company doesn't seem to "do the right thing". Edit: It is the latter, as someone has posted the text from the mergeinfo page. A blurb that was posted from somewhere else said that no food would be consumed "during the merge", which is a technical accuracy, but misleading. The phrase "during the merge" really means from the point the server is taken offline to the point the other one comes back online. So, while it is technically accurate, a possibility exists for confusion due to not having full disclosure in the blurb that was posted. [/edit]

What was that about putting yourself in someone else's shoes?

You know what's sadder... I posted a thread asking people to express their views and opinions about the merger on Christmas day, trying to bring Evony's attention to the errors in their logic of doing it on that particular day, yet of all the players on server 15 and 16, and all other Evony players, only approximately 40% of the total 48 votes said it was wrong and should be delayed... It is a shame all those on 15 & 16 didn't vote in larger number, may have done more at the time than it is after the fact.

By the time you put that up, the process had already been started. It was set for 12/24/2009 at 00:20 (you get a 20 minute warning). Given the lack of response afterwards, it's unlikely that anything would've changed the plans. Someone decided that was a great time to do it and didn't think about the ramifications. Additionally nobody has stepped up to the plate to say they're sorry or to just give us back the 3 days of no food consumption that got taken away that the rest of the COMMUNITY will be able to enjoy, since they had the potential for 8 days vs. our 5. These are non-trivial complaints that deserve a response...but will likely not get one. On the bright side, at least they didn't force anyone else to go through a merge until now, after Epiphany / Three Kings Day / Twelfth Night...which is what it should have been for everyone.
