    That is a separate situation. If an account was lost, the person deserves to be compensated if the account is indeed "lost". Most likely what would happen is there would be an older backup of the person's account and they'd get restored based on that backup, then given some sort of compensation package. That's how I'd handle it if I were the Customer Service Manager in charge of the situation and the account really had been lost in the recent backups. If there was no backup, then I'd find out how much the person had spent in cash, if any, and issue a full refund.

    That's part of what's irritating me when people start telling me that I have nothing to complain about. I've been in customer service positions before, and even as a programmer or system administrator, I still had to provide customer service when there was a problem. I've had to listen to unreasonable demands and work through getting to equitable solutions. I've had to "give in" a bit here and there, either in time or in resources. I remember one time that I was fussed at by my manager for getting someone their kid's Christmas item delivered on the 24th by FedEx for the same price as UPS Ground shipping (which would've been late), as well as with a 10% discount on the item because the company I worked for messed up.

    I'm not asking for anything unreasonable, and it is tiring to have people beat on me for continuing to ask for what I would've already done for them...
