Great point... the guy i've been attacking recently (this a.m.) joined a new alliance. His new alliance asked that i stop hitting him for a short period so that he could build troops to take a new city they were offering in a different state. I agreed, sent a message to my alliance to not attack him and report if he tries to swipe and abandon any more valleys, and gave his alliance 24+ hours. I think this is a fair deal.

How about Buck up and stand up to the dude, Learn the game mechanics! its possible to grow larger and larger in the face of endless attacks, you have to build warehouse*s* then set the level of protection to protect the resources for your next upcoming build. I've put up a level 9 beacon tower, level 9 walls, level 9 townhall, and ammassed quite an army inside the gates, now they're too scared to attack. Build warehouses warehouses warehouses, then build your city up. Don't even bother wasting resources on fortifications, they'll just get continuously nerfed, build up to archery 10, get 100k+ archers, THEN start building fortifications when the threat of you opening the gates is a real threat. With warehouses protecting SOME food, you can use disaster relief to keep your loyalty above 5, your gates will stay closed above 5 loyalty and protect your army. Get over losing 10k of each resource to a bully, STFW? as long as you in advance protect the resources you're going to need for your next build by adjusting percentages in warehouse, you're good. If an alliance member comes on says "im under attack, and comes to the solution that they're "just gonna teleport" I boot them from the alliance, they know not how the game works. Teleports are for OFFENSE, or TERRAFORMING, not for implementing the monty-python defense: "run away! run away!" If you build your city up with 0 or 1 warehouse, and lose 300k+ of each resource when plundered THAT's YOUR FAULT, for being a retard. You can pull your warehouses down when you have 500k+ troops, full fortifications, and lots of large alliance buddies to back you up.

Normally I wouldn't respond to this, ok that's a lie... but if this person is a Noob they have no defenses to stand up against anyone. Plus if the attacker is 500k prest and noob is IDK 40k prest of course he is going to whine about it. He hasn't played the game long enough to understand it fully. I don't think we should insult him/her by saying BUCK UP but instead we should offer encouragement and advice.

After all, we were all Noobs at ONE point!

Side note: Join a fricking alliance ASAP!

Buck up *is* the encouragement they need. Every noob needs to have it explained to them that being attacked and plundered is not:
    1. the end of the world or the end of the game, your last city *CANNOT* be taken.
    2. A good reason to teleport. Teleports don't grow on trees, they are VERY usefull tools for OFFENSE, or for TERRAFORMING your area to get rid of unwanted NPCs, they shouldn't be wasted running away.
    3. A big deal at all. If you use warehouses and understand that they protect resources from being plundered a 4k prestige noob could build up to level 9 EVERYTHING, while under CONSTANT barrage from 500k+ guys.
    4. Psychologically denting. There's no reason to be ashamed of pages and pages of battle losses where the opponent goes home with no plunder, you ACTUALLY WON that battle because it cost them FOOD to send those troops and they didn't recoup their investment.
    5. A reason to join up with any old alliance. They're probably in a different state anyway and will require you to teleport which is again "running away" don't do that, there's no need, find an alliance in your area, if you aren't big enough prestige yet, YOU WILL BE IF YOU KEEP BUILDING. This is how you actually "WIN" against bigger players is to become an immovable object. Soon they will be recruiting you not wasting you.

Follow the plan I outlined earlier, and you can become a force to be reckoned with on even the earliest of servers with massive players simply because the game mechanics allow for it if played right.
