I have tried and tried to make it work, but like any bad, abusive relationship, sooner or later, as Tina had to dump Ike, I just have to stop being hurt by this game.

The main problem Evony suffers from is a total absence of anything resembeling balance...and no, alliances and 7-day immunities for newbies don't begin to suffice. Face it, this game is deliberately slanted in favor of those willing to spend real-world money on it. I, most decidely, am not, and will never be.

If you find that harsh, consider the question of why it is that one cannot use game-money (i.e. gold) to buy items. After all, that would help even things a bit, and I for one had an enormous amount (almost a billion!) I could not use, because of the limits on production (e.g. queue limits, restraints by population level and food production, etc.). So what would've been the problem with my suggestion -- which I had submitted for consideration to the junta of this game, at the time -- being implimented? Why did I get no answer at all, and those that ever do get one are told flatly no?

Because it would eat into their precious profits. It's greed, pure and simple. But see, here's the thing...now I'm not playing at all, and I intend to give very bad press indeed to any who I speak to about this game. Because, simply put, it's an unfair game, that promotes bullying and indirectly forces a purchase to play with any competativeness.

I had a great city, which I'd spent several months laboring on, and I never once attacked another player...only NPCs. After going through 3 worthless alliance memberships, I was abandoned to face an onslaught of something like 75 major assaults, all resulting in plunder, in 72 hours. My city is now totally zeroed-out, and can't think why it's not yet been conquered, though I'm sure that's not far away.

You know something, when a theater manager says I can't have my outside food (to force me to pay quadruple for their popcorn and drinks), I bring mine in anyway. The very first time I am prevented from this or otherwise given any grief about it whatsoever, that theater looses my business forever. So what then is the fiscal sense of antagonizing your customers like that?

Here, too, I render that final thought to the money-makers behind Evony. What you're doing is creating the same adversarial relationship and aggravation. My advice; change. Make it so that you can only "interact" with players on your same power level, and so that an alliance can only beset another of about the same power level. What's going on here is like letting high-scholers bully kindergardeners in the sand box!

And yes, you need to let us spend game money and not real world money on items. Then you'll have more business. Otherwise, you'll just keep loosing players...the way you've just lost me...

Thanks...I think.

Regards,

Thayer
