tonight when i logged on, i saw this written in the little box to the left of the login boxes:

System

* Resources of NPC cities replenish 100% in 8 hours.

* Resources of the cities abandoned by players are consistent with the pre-abandon state.

the first point is understandable, i thought thats how it was already, npcs replenish every 8hrs (and also on server reset).

the second line however has me confused, theres two possible explanations in my mind:

1) supposing you abandon a lumber city, that makes 1m lumber an hour right now (so in 8hrs it'll make 8m lumber). now when u farm it for resources, it will give 8m lumber every 8hrs to you, but no other resource since it only had sawmills when you abandoned it.
this would drive resource prices next to worthless and drive food prices sky high.

2) supposing you make a city, load it with food, lumber, iron, all sorts of goodies. then abandon it. every 8hrs, all those resources are regenerated for you to plunder.
this would drive prices of everything down to 0 and create a never-ending supply of resources - meaning never ending armies...never ending wars.

i'd like if one of the mods can please come and shed some light on this issue, which of two explanations is correct, or are both wrong? if so, what is the correct explanation.
