How can you think that if it is clean you won't be able to find anything? Seriously? That's just because you don't know, right off the top of your head, that all of the blue socks go in the right hand front corner of the second drawer, while the white ones are the entire left side. Meanwhile, all clothes are in the closet, facing the same way, organized first by type/purpose, then by color. Front bar is current season, back bar is opposing season (that's long vs. short sleeves for some of you.) If everything has an EXACT place, then nothing is ever hard to find. I can lay my hands on anything at all in my house, in the dark, in about 5 seconds flat. Unless my kids have been in that room in the last day, or my husband was looking for something.

OK, so my house is messy, but in my HEAD it is clean, and my side of my room is clean. Don't knock OCD kids. Besides, my way you trip less.

hehe must be a mom thing that all the cloths are organized just so. because i do the same for everyone in my house. and since i do the laundery they cant mess it up.

thats probably how i got the tital "mom finder of all lost things" if i'm the one who always puts them away, i'm the one who can always find them.

all moms seem to be like that though there are exceptions like mine, she tends to completely forget where she puts things, we aren't talking little things were talking large sums of money, medication and all sorts of stuff. Though I guess it must have been nice for her when she would stumble upon 300$ in the back of the silverware drawer.

My mom taught me my messy habits. She had tons of little "nests" around her favorite sitting places.
    A sewing area nest.
A kitchen nest in a section of the counter
A living room nest for TV watching.
    etc....
