Thread: How do they know?

Default Well if ya. . .

if ya downloaded and used a publicly available bot, you probably got caught within the 1st day (or few minutes) of using it. (what else would you EXPECT?) If commands occur repeatedly with identical time intervals, a script would catch that very easily. If a bot doesn't talk to the server in the same way the client does, its very easily proven a bot. 24 hours or more of activity without a certain number of hours break is *NOT* proof of botting, I pulled 50+ hours straight when I started, humans may as a whole sleep some portion of the day but not all of us and not every night.

So how 'bout just don't use a bot? If you need to play 24/7, go snort some coke. . .

Botters still give me an "eh, whatever" feeling compared to the cheating of the multi-accounters and account sharers. Humans can keep competitive with the bots, especially if they're unemployed or have access to PC most of the day, they'll even do better because a human head makes better decisions than a bot. Multi-accounters achieve 10 cities in a few days where honest players have to pay $$ to get there in this century. A bot may get logged off and not make it back on, an account sharing team on opposite sides of an ocean are much more undefeatable than an auto-comforting bot. I'm not trying to lessen the hatred for botters but wonder where's the ferver against the more easily utilized, and more powerful cheats?

remember, most bots have auto redial, so if they see an account that is trying to log on 10 times a second as of when server maintenance hits, its prob a good red flag.

the key isn't to figure out how evony tells, just accept that they can tell, and stop doing it.

Server logs record every action made. It would be a pain to have to review them but if you know what to look for (patterns of activity that cycle, etc.) then the evidence is there to be found.

Are we giving advice to botters? Here's my advice. Go die in a ditch.

Don't worry... Hundreads of people got temp banned, your on vecation mode no food used and un attackable until the temp ban expires. at that time youl be perm banned or let go.. Hopefully put on a clean list.. but i doubt it.

Evony is Currently on a fishing expedition. If you farm to much, or play to often instead of bots looking like players, how it sould be. They start to see legit players as bots.

I was one of them, but i payd 30$ on credicard.. Simple fact is if they keep me banned without sufficient provable proof ive done something wrong, Im calling my creditcard company and getting my 30 bucks back lol...

Its actually pretty easy to tell someone is using a bot if we are monitoring their activity. The only reason we haven't banned every single one is that we can't monitor everyone. However, we are getting more efficient at detecting possible bot users and monitoring them. Anyone still using a bot is essentially living on borrowed time.

I can say with supreme confidence that anyone suspended for using a bot, was definitely using a bot.

Anyone know how difficult it is to play against a bot?

try attacking someone for hours on end and their loyalty never goes to zero because the bot is rasing it with comforting. NO ONE can perfectly raise loyalty every 15 mins on the dot, its impossible. you can usually tell its a bot because maybe 4 hours in the person says to you something along the lines of... "wow your attacking me...How long you been at it?... you will never get this city no matter how long your up at night..."

such responses lead me to believe that someone is botting to the point where they are considered "invincible" in the sense they are never losing their cities.

now when you dont bot and you have school to go to, you often lose cities or come close to doing so while you are away. HOW can you compete with someone who never loses cities, so they can do whatever they want forever because they arent playing the game the same as me.

Attacking someone with a bot is frustrating. My alliance attacked a guy for 36 hours straight, around the clock with no breaks. We can assume the guy was botting or had someone sitting his account, but since he had no alliance, I would be inclined to say he was botting.

If I found myself under attack by an insurmountable force, I'd comfort for 36 hours straight to frustrate you guys no problem. I wouldn't even need to medicate if it were only for 36 hours. Humans are more capable than people give credit for. 36 hours don't prove crap. If evony toasts an account for 36 hours of comforting and no other evidence, (like it occurred repeatedly every 15mins, 5 sec exactly) they should be ashamed of themselves. That would be like having a shopper arrested for shoplifting when they put gum they owned when the walked in the store back in their pocket.
