The problem with evony, is unles you pay for the game... there is no alternative to botting if you actually want to enjoy end game.

Im not supporting it, or saying you should. im just putting a fact out there. There is no way to play activly after a certain point.. Unles you can dedicate 12 hours a day and some real life money.
I can assure you Kovacs is a good player and has more of a life than anyone who decides to cheat at a game because they're too lazy to play it properly. However, I under stand that many peeps actually don't have the time to farm but maybe want to stick with friends they have without getting pwned every day, that is as close as it comes to a good reason.

You have to remember though, Barb farming was never intended to be a feature of Evony! Barbarian cities were there for the occasional boost with enough losses to make it barely worthwhile, blaming them for making a game that happens to reward more active players so much unintentionally is ridiculous...

Barb farming indeed was never an intended feature to the level in which it happens now. Unfortunately evony should claim it was. Without it you simply cannot hope to break a properly defended city. I will of course be posting my suggestion here and in the suggestion board.
1.Do away with the lump sum given towards capping an npc, leave the experience alone.
2.Instead turn npcs into a type of valley and adjust their income. For example taking a level 10 barb takes a valley spot but nets you 19 million food 600k of all resoruces and 4.5 million gold per 8 hours in a tricke of resources. Of course a little play testing could help them figure out a good resource mix per 8 hours.
    3. Do away with valley food consumption penalty to house troops. Now watch the wars over npc valleys escalate and be an important strategic target instead of throwing millions at walls.
