Rank & title have nothing to do with how much prestige you gain. Only things that affect prestige gain are:

1. The level of your Town Hall
2. How many Town Halls you have

I guess you could say title indirectly affects your prestige, because obviously the more city slots you have the more TH's you can build.

It was my impression that rank and title do affect it...I must be a n00b. My bad.
