I see nothing wrong with the statement. I don't see you handling 500,000 players in a game just out of beta. It's an explosion of players that was completely unplanned, therefore the developers were swamped. At least they're TRYING.

Completely unplanned? If they are the least competent they would know approximately how many players each of their own server can handle. How hard is it to put up a "Server Full" message whenever someone tries to log in on that server? But nooo, they want to cram in as many as possible to squeeze the most money out of each server and damn the crashes and instability. Oh and about your pitiful "I don't see you handing 500,000 players in a game etc", tell me, do you have to serve 240 million people in order to complain about a US president's actions? Do you have to serve 500,000 people in a city to complain about a mayor's actions? Do you have to serve billion upon billion of fast food eaters before you can make a complaint about McDonald's? No, I didn't think so either. The ONLY thing worse than UMGE making bad decisions are the apologists and butt kissers who try to make excsues for them.
Completely unplanned. No sane person expects half a million players to join in such a short time. It's crazy. As for the server full message, yeah it's a good idea, but everyone is human. As for complaining about the president, yeah, you need to walk a mile in his shoes to really complain. Otherwise you're completely prejudiced. The last example is a little different, for every McDonalds is different, as they are franchised. You definitely should understand the background information before complaining about anything.

It is a product, a commodity and just about every modern nation in the world has a law which says 'Must be of merchantable quality and fit for the purpose sold' - Quite clearly it isn't - Don't think in terms of 500,000 - think in terms of One. The 500,000 is made up of individuals - each of whom if things continue as they are currently (and I refer specifically to those who have parted with hard cash) have not only squandered their money on a bad product but cannot even get a response to their genuine and not unwarranted mails/posts of protest. The product is flawed and the customer service is shocking. Which part of that are we wrong to point out?

I think people are being too hard on Evony. Comparing Evony to other products clearly works in some regards, but is apples and oranges in another. McDonalds does not have a system where they give out free burgers and if you want your burger extra tasty or with certain condiments, you pay money.
Evony is not (no offense to the developers) a game that is the magnitude of something like WOW. Yet its customer demands are just as large.
What Evony is? It is a highly addictive browser based game that for a small package is much more stream-lined then so many of the web-page built games crapping up the internet these days.
We got many customers who have made up their mind and know that they will never ever pay for this game. Well, that is fine. Evony is "free forever." But they want their cake and eat it too. They want to flash and hold against the company their potential to buy cents. And they use all sorts of ludicrious reasons based on the company's faults why they would not.
I enjoy this game, and I know how tireless it is to develop a game. I've had personal experience with that. I also know the customer service realm is a constant bloodletting place where one may be for the next decade or so, and never get appreciated.
I like your note and today when I saw the graphical change, I realized that the servers are getting more stable. Some of the quickness in the button selections is returning from day one. Games get released in many, shape and forms. I've paid $50-$60 for games that are still bugged, undeveloped, and rushed in the end. Am I stupid? No, some of these games happen to be one of the better kind. And future patches tend to bring that shine.
Evony is free. It's a browser game with a store. Yet the churning negative reactions and excitement, I can only see is how big its gotten with popularity. We have the same kind of posters that continue to preach the same old complaints and they stick around these forums (for what I don't know, if they were really as upset as they make themselves out to be, they'd be gone by now).
So allow me to fling one positive response in the the face of so many negatives. I appreciate your role dawnseeker, as the face of customer servicer, and fellow bloodletter. Thank you for your many, many attempts in making this community happy. I for one, am one of those that are satisfied.
Thank you.

It would appear so. I appreciate your efforts and while I wish I could play whenever I want I know you are still working out a few issues for us. I do not regret the few dollars I have put into this game and have other ones I can play when you are busy....not to mention the housework I have let slide for this.
I think the others also have consoles that have been neglected while we play Civony/Evony. Appreciate the improvement to medal drops for one thing.
My best and I will be back - probably too often
they may as well be. they are defensive and non-informative and designed to deflect and dissemble, nothing more than public relations propaganda. do you really think we're idiots? your "team" has made farming virtually impossible as well as making conquering virtually impossible. there's no way to recover your investment in troops through attacking, it's just not economically feasible. every serious game recognizes that resource gains must exceed losses or it's pointless to attack anyone. and farms of some sort are a must in any game.
i was going to drop you and never buy another cent. i've decided to stay and use up your (the company's) resources as a non-paying player. i'll never give you guys another dime. lag and downtime issues are still unresolved after all this time so that tells me your 'team' is NOT working to resolve infrastructure and game engine problems, at least not with any competence. you need a new job, Dawnseeker. you write very well. too bad it's unsubstantive drivel.
