    Talking Thank you Gazza

Given all the help that he has given me over the last four days or so, I thought it only right to take a moment and thank Gazza for all of his hard work and effort to assist me in dealing with a very crippling game bug that almost made me quit this game.

I’ve been playing this game since the first day it opened, intrugied by what seemed to be the best building sim I had seen to date. And got hooked. Fun, especially once I met my wonderful alliance members in the TSoC, I have played most of the day, just about every day since. I have always worked hard to stay in the top 200, and have fully enjoyed this game.
Now, we’ve all dealt with the Hero March bug, and the down time at the beginning. The nearly impossible to tolerate lag on occasion, and long server down times. But, as annoying as they were, these things didn’t stop us from playing, and having fun. We all felt one another’s pain, laughed, and kept right one building.

Tuesday morning, having set up all my builds for over night as usual, I awoke to a horror: all of ma academy research was reset to 0. All of my items were gone, including the hundreds of medals I has painstakingly collected over the last few months. And all of my quests were reset. All of it… gone. With no research, I could not build my troops, my production was decimated, and building times crippling. I was stunned, horrified, and in a panic. My alliance relies on me to help and protect our lower ranked players. My cities were sitting ducks, and my valleys ripe for anyone to take from me, as my armies crawled without the research (almost every one at 9 or 10) that made them effective.

    I confess… like the girl I am… I wanted to cry.

Then my alliance Host suggested I contact Gazza. He was known for being kind, dedicated, and helpful. And so it was I brought my game breaking bug to him, begging for help. Hours he spent with me, talking and cheering me up, making polite suggestions and helping me get in touch with the right people to fix my issue. A day went by. Two, then three… and on the fourth day I was ready to give up and quit. He wasn’t. Despite the fact that I was completely convinced I would slip through the cracks, and that the game devs didn’t give a crap about their players, Gazza kept hounding them for me, kept working.

This morning… everything was back. Sure, I lost 4 days of troop production, effective building, and resource production, and my ranking tanked from 124 5o 219… but I was back, and it was glorious.

Gazza- I don’t have the words to thank you for everything you have done. All the hours you put in for the players who need you, all the encouragement when I just wanted to quit, and all the patience while I raged and complained. You are a true testament to the staff, and we are all darn lucky to have you on our side. You saved Evony the embarrassment of a very scathing article in the art, lit, and gaming magazine for which I write as well, and I do hope they thank you for that. Bad press is never good for a young game.

Thank you… so very, very much. And also to the techs who actually sorted out this whole mess. I’m a happy player once more, and look forward to all the wonderful new developments to come, sans the bugs. *wink*
