I direct you to the "Exceptions" section in the 4th post.

It has been said that democracy is the worst form of government... except for all the other ones.
It has also been said that true communism is the utopian society we aspire to.

I think I have made a clear case that the best form of government is a truly benevolent dictatorship.
If everyone would just do what I say, then I'll make the world a better place.

Hm. You're smart. This seems like a good idea, but I'm not an economist. I'm going to leave this thread before my head explodes.

    Good lord, my head hurts.
It seems like a good idea, I guess. Didn't have quite the "OH MY GOD YOU JUST BLEW MY MIND" shock factor the other plan did though.

Yeah, it has a lot more numbers in it. I don't think it will get near the response my poverty solution got. But, one can always hope. I just went back and re-read the poverty thread. There was a really good discourse after that. Maybe the same will happen here, again. Maybe not. Time will tell, I guess.

I say we create a democratic dictatorship...
Though I think this thread is too political for OT...

I think this all runs on the assumption of the United States being a democractic society when in reality our title is a Democratic Republic.... yet we really resemble more of a fascist society. However, I enjoyed reading both of your posts Rota, and I will return to them tomorrow to read again when I am 100% sober (I have had a few tonight and it is getting late).

    Rota,

How is any company going to fund this? On top of the salary that they need to pay you, they also need to put extra money in a pot. Meaning that you will cost more for the work that you do.

If you earn 50K, in your example your boss needs to be an additional 12,750 for social security. Meaning that you do not cost 50K, but 62K.

The flaw in your proposal is that whatever your boss produces and sells will rise in price. For instance, you bake bread. You are employed by a local bakery. The price of a loaf will not be 2 dollar, but 2 dollar 50, because your boss needs to refund their costs.

With your Masters, I am sure you can figure the consequences..

I can't seriously go into my other questions as they are politics (what happens to the lower class and why not tax the upper class more)

We have a single totaltarian ruler who rules for life, has the absolutle control to silence his political opponents and kill anyone who agrees with him, and puts 90% of the economy into military build-up? Really? When did that happen?

Fascists believe that a nation is an organic community that requires strong leadership, collective identity, and the will and ability to commit violence and wage war in order to keep the nation strong. Do you not see this when you look at the US?
